My Pet Bobtail (BT)

Adolph - My Pet Bobtail (BT)

20 Adolph - My Pet Bobtail (BT)Dear All,

This is a video of BT the name I have given to the Bobtail lizard who has lived in my small backyard in my holiday unit in Mandurah for the last two years.

For those who do not know, it is commonly referred to as bobtail lizard. It obviously belongs to the lizard species and the word ‘bob’ is used to signify its short tail. It has a black tongue and it eats small insects and plants and fruits. I fed him yesterday with mango skins. He ate a whole two cheeks of the mango and he seemed to like it.

It is not dangerous to humans and there is a myth that they fight snakes. What is true to say is that if you find them in your backyard then it means there are no snakes nearby.

The species is unique to Australia . Its Latin name is Tiliqua rugosa.
